A mix of costume and play – going to a cosplay event like a comic convention gives you the opportunity to engage as dressing up as your favourite comic/film/game character and socialise with like-minded individuals.
F*** Me, it’s cathartic. Not only huge fun, you can leave your old persona, habits, problems etc. behind and quite literally be someone hugely powerful/good/evil/sexy/ugly whatever for a few hours.
It really takes your mind off things – quite literally a holiday from yourself with no chance of rejection because everyone else is doing it too…
